More about the Bands:

The Bad Day Blues Band

Unashamedly gritty and rough around the edges. They compose live, new blues material and deliver it in a very old fashioned way.

Featuring a dirty harmonica and an even dirtier harmonica player, Sam Spranger, The Bad Day Blues Band write songs that make you feel good about feeling bad. Their debut EP on Authentic Soul Records Bitter sweet blues reached number two in the iTunes Blues Chart in 2016 and was critically acclaimed by leading blues scholars in the UK. Their follow up single Wandering Man repeated this feat in 2017, also reaching number two in the blues charts.

The group are very active on the London Blues scene playing regular at some of the best blues venues in the country.

D is for Dinosaur

Everyone likes Dinosaurs.

And even if you don’t, you soon will after hearing the catchiest numbers from London’s premier indie-blues-rock outfit.

D is for Dinosaur are consistently the finest number on the bill. A 5 piece with funky beats, incredible melodies and a singer who will blow your mind. These guys are not to be missed.

Who knew what a Dinosaur could do?

Parachute Words

Advertised as the London Lo-Fi bedroom band, let yourself drift away this evening with Parachute Words.

Led by Martino Gasparrini, Parachute Words are an eclectic mix of cool melodies, soaring lyrics and the chillest vibes around.

Lay your ears to rest on the most beautiful sounds known to music. Everyone needs a parachute in life, these guys may just be yours.

It's officially summer, and we're celebrating with ice lollies!

Come down to the Chocolate House this week and we will give you 2 ice lollies for the price of 1. Bring a friend, take one back to a work mate, or just have them both to yourself!

Inspired by Mexican paletas, cocktail flavours and sunshine. Our natural ice lollies are all made in-house at the Chocolate House, using fresh fruit and herbs. Flavours rotate throughout the summer to use seasonal ingredients - some favourites include watermelon lime, cherry coconut, mojito, mango chilli.

It wouldn't be Jaz & Jul's without some melted chocolate! We can turn any ice lolly into a choc ice in front of you - dip in melted chocolate which sets instantly on the ice, and your choice of sprinkles.

Find us - Jaz & Jul's Chocolate House, 1 Chapel Market, London N1 9EZ

Offer valid 21st-26th June 10am-6pm, subject to availability. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Offer valid at J&J Chocolate House only and not at any other outlets or stockists. Both lollies must be taken in one purchase and on the same day. Where lollies are different prices, the cheapest item will be free.

Have dessert for breakfast with waffles, french toast and smoothie bowls.

Many menu items have a chocolate twist, such as chocolate-beer waffles, black bean chocolate chilli, or a cocoa dusting on coconut french toast. Or try a chocolate avocado smoothie bowl, which tastes so much like chocolate pudding you won't believe it's good for you.

However we haven't forced chocolate into everything; some dishes are just things we think taste good with a hot chocolate, like baked cinnamon-apple waffles!

Savoury items include cornbread waffles with beer-marinated mushrooms or a traditional fried egg and spinach.

Go all out and make it a boozy brunch with mimosas and spiked iced tea.

Every Saturday and Sunday 10am-3pm, starting 1st May 2016.

We are teaming up with Alchemist Dreams to bring you the ultimate chocolate cocktails, complete with rum-filled flaming chocolate eggs and chocolate treats throughout the night. A perfect opportunity to see our basement event space at the Chocolate House.

Sunday 26th March 8-10pm.

Show up on the night, or let us know you're coming at http://bit.ly/1XNspFA

We hope to see you there!

As some of you will know, we've wanted our own retail space for a long time, but finding the right space in the right location has been a tough job... well the long search is finally over!

Jaz & Jul's Chocolate House will be opening at 1 Chapel Market in Islington very soon. The cafe and shop will be an extension of our market and festival stalls; you will be able to drink all of our hot chocolates, fabulous coffee, eat cakes (and maybe a few savoury things...?). There's a ground floor seating area and a huge basement! You will also be able to take home all of our hot chocolates alongside products from our favourite chocolate makers.

Our new premises will also allow us to increase our chocolate production so more coffee shops and retailers can serve Jaz & Jul's hot chocolate to their customers! We have a window into the production kitchen at the back of the shop, so you can see what we're up to (and our vast pools of melting chocolate).

We're fitting out the shop as you read this, and will be open by early November. Watch this space for exact opening dates, and also for updates and opening offers!

We need staff to come with us to work on our stall at music festivals, serving hot chocolate, coffee, iced mochas and cakes.

Dates & locations:

Y Not Festival 31st July - 2nd Aug www.ynotfestivals.co.uk

Boomtown Fair 13th - 16th Aug www.boomtownfair.co.uk

We need you to work from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon/evening. Expect an average of 8-10 hours work/day. If the festival is less busy than expected, we will pay for minimum 6 hours/day. If really busy we may ask you to work up to 12 hours/day. It could be starting from 7am or finishing up to 4am, to be arranged between us all.

We expect to have to adjust hours during the event so some flexibility is required.

We can offer a lift there/back from London leaving either Thursday evening or very early on the Friday, and coming back on the Monday afternoon. If you want to come later or leave on the Sunday night you would have to sort out other transport, e.g. on liftshare, or by train and we can collect at the local station.

Barista experience preferable, good customer service skills and fluent spoken English essential.

We provide: tent, as much coffee/cake from our stall as you like.

We don't provide: sleeping bags, mats, food.

We try to arrange hours around things people want to see if possible, but not guaranteed.

Priority is going to anyone who can do both weekends, not just one. Please email info@jazandjuls.co.uk with your CV and/or relevant experience.
