We are hiring for:

- Chocolate production assistant 3-4 days / week (30+hours)

- Baker 1-2 days/week (vegan baking)


With potential additional roles in weekend brunch prep, chocolate making


Both roles to start in September, pay £10ph

Chocolate production assistant 3-4 days/week (30+ hours)


This role is production of chocolate shavings for hot chocolate


Role includes: tempering chocolate, operating chocolate shaving machine, packaging, cleaning

Most of your time will be spent producing similar products, at certain times of year we add other products.


The roles requires strict precision in following recipes, e.g. counting drops of essential oil. You will be lifting weights continuously throughout the day – 5kg chocolate bars, 10kg containers of shavings, 25kg bags of ingredients – so please ensure you are physically able to do this.


The job will be based at our chocolate cafe in Angel, and the production takes place in a semi-open (visible) kitchen at the back of the shop.


Training will be given, we have our own chocolate tempering methods.


Criteria


Essential

Food preparation experience / experience working in kitchen

Attention to detail

Able to move 25kg weights (sacks of cocoa/sugar)

Fluent English speaker

Love chocolate!


Preferable

Chocolate tempering experience

Have level 2 food hygiene cert

Love of food

Interest in sustainability and ethical sourcing


Hours

Avg 30 hours per week, over 3 weekdays. This could be increased to 4 days during the winter.

Must be fully available October-December, no holidays during this period.



Baker


We are looking for a part-time baker to make cakes for us 2 days per week. We have recipes in place, although there is room for someone who would like to bring their own recipes and try new things out as well. Training will be given.


The cakes are generally chocolate-based; with big cakes, brownies, cookies, muffins.


There is some flexibility in which days you work, as long as they are spaced out during the week.


Depending on the candidate, there are opportunities for additional kitchen work – e.g. weekend brunch prep and chocolate making - please let us know if this would suit you.
